Why does a publication like the Atlantic need to give a billionaire a platform?

Still not a democracy though

Will the world respect Chinese patents when China stole the world’s tech?

They shouldn’t. To be fair nobody should respect current patent system as its whole purpose is to prevent innovation and generate shareholder value under capitalism.

China builds everything anyways. Hopefully they start building equality soon because so far, it’s indistinguishable from a lawless oligarchy. Let China build the means of production back into the proletariat’s hands instead of continuously moving towards fascism.

it’s indistinguishable from a lawless oligarchy.

It’s definitely an oligarchy, but “lawless” hasn’t been my impression of China, at least not any more than any capitalist country.

My meaning was, if you’re part of the apparatchik the law doesn’t apply to you much like i. e. the US with money keeping you from having to comply with the law.

Let China build the means of production back into the proletariat’s hands

That’s a good joke.

China has billionaires just like the West, they shit on their underlings who shit on their underlings just like the west.

China is a capitalist nation…

What are “super-apps”?

A dystopia that Elon Musk wants to import from China where one company controls everything you do via an app on your phone.

WeChat I guess

What makes it “super” as opposed to “just” an “app”?

I think it’s that it basically has a grip on small economy

It’s a chat app yes, but it’s also Amazon, it’s also a payment provider, not just online either, you pay in shops with a WeChat QR code, I think if you’re going to a gig, your tickets are on WeChat

It’s basically all encompassing.

That sounds dangerous, wtf.

Yeah I’ve personally never got the appeal

I don’t understand the appeal of these apps. We have em too here in Japan called LINE and it’s just so bloated and annoying. It’s like having a whole phone os within an app because they have little mini apps (extensions) that you launch. And ads. Jesus, so many ads.
