A lot of things should have happened in Secret Invasion. You could have had quite a few characters who hadn't been seen in awhile. You wouldn't know which one could be trusted. And it wouldn't impact their existing stories.
You could even introduce Spider-Woman (assuming they have the rights, since she's not actually connected to Spider-Man).
Secret Invasion shouldn't have happened at all if they weren't going to take it seriously, but Quake would have been a positive addition. Shit, even keeping Hill alive for the whole thing would have been better.
Imagine Nick Fury being revealed as a Skrull at the end of Ep 1. Then follow Maria Hill trying to fill in for him, at times more ruthlessly than him, but still less experienced.
The whole Fury stumbling around did not work well, imo.
I thought they bungled the whole romance angle, too. Like they're in love, but he's never home, but she knows he's a spy, and she's also a spy, but she fell in love, but also he doesn't trust her, and she doesn't think be loves her as a Skrull, but he does love her and be does trust her, but she's still spying, but then she's helping, and he always trusted her. Fucking pick a lane.
Then they did the same waivering bullshit with Giah and Talos.
For that to happen Disney would have to acknowledge that the Inhumans exist in the MCU and I don't think they actually want to do that.
Agents of SHIELD had enough time travel in it you can just have characters show up, give them a quick explanation, and you'll be good.
This is Quake, she has earthquake powers, done.
