I think that just leaves VRR for complete HDMI 2.1, although it will likely be a while before this all trickles down to mainline kernels. Presumably Freesync over HDMI will work too for even earlier support.

With that said, it’s quite likely then we will see this support upstreamed to the mainline Linux kernel with the upcoming Linux 7.2 cycle.
Wonder if Fedora 46 will aim for 7.2

So reading a bit more closely these are patches for the mainline kernel, so hopefully this isn’t far off being in a released kernel (provided there isn’t a long back and forth because of issues etc).
From what I read somewhere one time they have had the implementations done for a while now. The only blocker was the HDMI fourm refusing to let them upstream the changes. So hopefully it won’t take too long to hit mainline for this or very.
