Very neat.

For the design, did the tang screw into the pommel? Its my understanding that typical European design would have the tang hammered into the pommel/hilt, but it doesn’t look like that happened here (pommel too finely crafted + that gap in the hilt).

Speaking of those gaps in the hilt, I want to imagine those were for catching an opponents sword. Can anyone speak to those gaps having a function?
