Career Options - Civil

Hi all,

What are directions I could go as a civil/geotechnical engineer where there would be less focus on work being quantified through billable hours?

I’ve got interest in code and data visualization. I love getting outside. I’m about 5 years into my career with a master’s degree.

Any thoughts/opinions/experiences to share?
